Membership in CHCURC is an important, meaningful way for you to make a difference in your neighborhood. CHCURC is the oldest redevelopment corporation in Cincinnati and since 1975 we have worked to improve the quality of life and business climate in College Hill. CHCURC is a not-for-profit organization staffed by volunteers. So every dollar from your membership dues or contributions goes toward funding our various projects.

CHCURC currently has about 200 members and we would love to have many more. Please consider joining at either of the two membership levels, or making additional contributions of time or resources to our organization. Help us in Building the Hill! Download a membership form below.

Who we Are

College Hill Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (CHCURC) is a not-for-profit group dedicated to improving the economy, physical appearance, and quality of life for all residents of College Hill. Membership in CHCURC is open to any resident or organization in the neighborhood. A Board of Trustees elected from the membership administers CHCURC's operations.

CHCURC over the years has completed many community improvement projects, and many more exciting plans are in the works. A comprehensive streetscape redesign and improvement along Hamilton Avenue is due to begin construction in 2004. This together with our recently approved grant application for gateway improvements to College Hill's business district are key elements to implementing our 1999 Strategic Urban Design Plan.

Recently, CHCURC completed a strategic planning process and visioning exercise for the future of the community. Our adopted Vision for the Future states that:

College Hill is the 'in' place to be. We are a diverse community where folks of all kinds are involved in the life of the community. We are known throughout the region as the place to go for entertainment, arts, and shopping. People move here to stay because it's a charming, attractive, and safe neighborhood with good schools and rising property values.

CHCURC's primary goals for the next several years are:
  • To complete the Hamilton Avenue streetscape project by December 31, 2004
  • To have all three vacant corners of Hamilton Avenue and North Bend Road occupied with businesses or organizations that add value to the neighborhood
  • To have a clean, safe, attractive, and thriving business district by 2009
  • To have clean, safe, and attractive housing throughout the neighborhood by 2009
To accomplish these goals, CHCURC relies on the expertise and commitment of its Board and Membership. CHCURC also works closely with allied organizations in the neighborhood including College Hill Gardeners, the College Hill Forum, the College Hill Business Association, and the College Hill Summit.
